The Mind Readers, the first novel in the Mind Readers series, was a phenomenal paranormal romance novel! Below is the synopsis for The Mind Readers:
"Cameron Winters is a freak. Fortunately, no one but her family knows the truth …that Cameron can read minds. For years Cameron has hidden behind a facade of normalcy, warned that there are those who would do her harm. When gorgeous and mysterious Lewis Douglas arrives he destroys everything Cameron has ever believed and tempts her with possibilities of freedom. Determined to embrace her hidden talents, Cameron heads to a secret haven with Lewis; a place where she meets others like her, Mind Readers. But as Cameron soon finds out some things are too good to be true. When the Mind Readers realize the extent of Cameron’s abilities, they want to use her powers for their own needs. Cameron suddenly finds herself involved in a war in which her idea of what is right and wrong is greatly tested. In the end she’ll be forced to make a choice that will not only threaten her relationship with Lewis, but her very life."

The Mind Thieves, the second novel in the Mind Readers series was even better! Below is the synopsis for The Mind Thieves:
"What would you do if someone told you that your past and everything you believed was a lie?

Cameron Winters is a freak, a mind reader who can hear the thoughts of those around her. Although her life has been far from ideal, she has finally found peace on a Caribbean island far away from her troubles. But her troubles are about to find her in the form of a gorgeous government agent named Maddox.

Maddox claims Cameron’s father sent him to protect her from encroaching enemies. There’s only one problem…Cameron’s father has been dead for over a decade. When men arrive, threatening Cameron’s very life, she has no choice but to trust Maddox and escape to the United States. Shockingly, Cameron realizes Maddox has been telling the truth all along when she’s introduced to her father, a man she barely remembers. Suddenly, Cameron has everything she has always wanted…a family and home. But as her powers are exploited by the very people she trusts, Cameron realizes the old adage is only too true…be careful what you wish for."

MY REVIEW:
** Don't read past this point unless you have read the first novel in the series, The Mind Readers! **

I am loving this series!

The second installment in this series, The Mind Thieves, begins shortly after The Mind Readers. At the start of this novel, Cameron has no recollection of Lewis or her time with Aaron. Her dreams are haunted by a boy with blue eyes, but she has no idea that he is someone from her past. She is blissfully unaware that there are other mind readers out there, until Maddox tracks her down. Cameron doesn't remember Maddox, and when he starts spouting off about her being in danger and taking her to see her father, she thinks he is crazy because, as far as she knows, her father has been dead for years.

In this novel, Cameron is caught between everyone's different versions of right and wrong. Who are the "good" guys? Who are the "bad" guys? Who can she trust? Some old friends are back and there are a lot of new faces, but not everyone is the same person they were before and not everyone is who they appear to be. As her memory begins to come back, Cameron questions everyone's intentions and discovers that the only person she can trust is herself.

The Mind Thieves was a great addition to the Mind Readers series. It's a fast-paced novel packed with action, romance, and suspense. This novel wasn't as romance-heavy as the first novel in the series, but it had just enough to keep me satisfied and leave me panting for more! This novel is full of twists and turns. You never what's going to happen next. And just like its predecessor, this novel ends with a bang!

I gave The Mind Thieves by Lori Brighton 4 STARS!! I strongly recommend this series to young adults who are looking for an original paranormal romance series.
