New month (or year) is a great time to start anew. People make new year resolution during the holiday season. It seldom works but at least they feel good because they are on the way to getting those resolutions done. When it comes to starting a blogging business, many people tie into this momentum to amplify their excitement.
However, there are at least two problems related to this:
1. People often get off track of their resolutions as soon as one week after they set them.
2. New year resolutions don't work. You do.
If you wait until perfect timing to come before you start a blog, that time will never come. Most people think that if they start it with the right foot, they are going to finish sooner than people who begin with the first step immediately. That can't happen if the pace is the same.
The bad news is, often people who start right away will have the motivation to get things going because they are used to do things immediately. This is not the case for people who tend to be very considerate.
You are free to set new year resolutions, but that doesn't do any good unless you also create a plan to do it and take the necessary steps to move you closer to the goal on a daily basis.
As with any plans and goals, resolutions change too. You can't wait to set a new resolution next year, you could always start at anytime. Visualize that you've reached the goal, and you will be as excited to do it as during the New Year.
If you are currently have an idea or topic for a blog, you can start researching the feasibility and profitability of the niche. Find what others have been doing right now and think about ways to do it differently and offer unique and quality content.
Who knows, before new year, you already have a few hundred readers to your blog? So do it today, right now. The process will be the same no matter when you start it.
As another reason and motivation factor, let me tell you this. If part of your traffic strategy has something to do with search engine, ranking will not come overnight. You need to let Google do its work. Again, that means you should be starting your blog soon so the search engines find it right now. The sooner you get into their index, the better.
